ABERLADY CRAFT GROUP

ABERLADY PAST TIMES

Help us to preserve and display the fascinating history of our village

As a Community Craft Group we are now celebrating our 10th anniversary.
Our members were involved last year in producing a small Craft and History exhibition in the Bake-House Gallery behind Sew in Stitches on the main street of Aberlady.
We displayed several history information boards about the village that included a few pictures. As a result we realised that there was so much history of the village to be recognised and preserved that something had to be done sooner rather than later before the information was lost forever.

Members of Aberlady Craft Group have now secured funding from the Gullane Area Community Council and the Civic Pride Fund to enable us to preserve the History of the Village.

The Group are asking anybody with past memorabilia, photographs, or past press cuttings, to contact them either through Sew in Stitches on the main street or up at Waterston House, the Scottish ornithologists' Club, where we meet each week at 10- 12noon on a Wednesday morning.

We can then take a copy of either your photos or articles and then return the originals to you and at the same time preserve that information for future generations.

And we do need your help. Without you this project will fail. So please support us in trying to retain the History of Aberlady in all its glory.

If you have any information for us please call into Sew in Stitches, Main Street, on Mon, Tues, Fri & Sat between 10-4pm, or call at the S.O.C. where the Craft Group meets on a Wednesday morning between 1O-l2noon.

Thank You
