The Old Aberlady Inn is a family
hotel. No one could fail to feel the relaxing, friendly atmosphere
of the cosy well-stocked bar with its "olde worlde"
charm and its fine selection of wines, beers, and traditional
Scottish Malts.
The Old Aberlady Inn enjoys an
attractive setting in the historic and picturesque village of
Aberlady in East Lothian. Here the visitor is only 18 miles from
Scotland's Capital City of Edinburgh, yet has the privilege of
feeling "away from it all" beside nature reserves, sandy
beaches, and sites of historic importance. But, most of all, people
come to enjoy golfing on some of the oldest and worthiest courses
in Scotland. Musselburgh, after all, rather than St. Andrews,
claims the title of the world's oldest course.
The Old Aberlady Inn has earned
an outstanding reputation for the quality of its cuisine, served
in the restaurant or in either of its homely bars, where chef
presents the very best of Scottish meat and fish in a variety
of imaginative dishes to suit all tastes.
In the summer months, guests may
enjoy eating and drinking "al fresco" in the attractive
and colourful beer garden.
All the attractively furnished
bedrooms at The Old Aberlady Inn are supremely comfortable and
fully equipped with en suite facilities, colour TV, tea/coffee
facilities, and direct dial telephone.

Kilspindie
House Hotel was taken over in 2004 by Malcolm and Fiona Duck,
and renamed Duck's at Kilspindie House. Having undergone an extensive
refurbishment Kilspindie House has been granted a three star rating
from Visit Scotland as a Restaurant with Rooms. Bed & Breakfast
is offered in Ducks 23 en-suite bedrooms and it now also has two
restaurants. Duck's restaurant and head chef came highly commended
at the 2006 Scottish Chef Awards.
Malcolm and Fiona were already
passionate restaurateurs with their well established Duck's at
Le Marché Noir restaurant in Edinburgh, which closed in
2009 after 20 years with an international reputation, a Wine Spectator
honoured wine list, entries in most major guide books and a Bib
Gourmand in the Michelin Guide. Duck's in Edinburgh closed down
so that Malcolm and Fiona could concentrate on Ducks in Aberlady,
Malcolm felt trying to do both was neither enjoyable nor satisfying
and that he was spending too much time on the road and not enough
time in either place.
Duck's restaurant offers Fine Dining with white linen and
candles, a Seasonal á la carte menu including seafood,
steaks, lobster and an award winning wine list.

Donald's bar-bistro, serves a more relaxed style of food
such as mussels, fish & chips and steak, along with real ale,
50 to 60 malts. We are also open all day for a coffee as you pass
by.

Aberlady also has a fantastic
bird life and in recognition of that, Duck's has teamed up with
the Scottish Ornithological Centre (SOC) and can offer all inclusive
bird watching packages. These include dinner, bed and breakfast
and guided walks and lectures by the SOC.
