Part of a worldwide organisation, aimed at supporting a number of good causes, the Round Table in North Berwick has been established for 35 years. Raising money for local needs and supporting national appeals or charities, whilst having fun, is the core of our philosophy. The group is well served by a wide variety of individuals from all walks of life and backgrounds.
The social interaction of the group and the wider community is a real advantage, allowing both local inhabitants and newer arrivals to establish links with like-minded people in their area. Out with our area, members can interact with tablers from other regions and sporting challenges, such as football and golf, feature throughout the year.
There are links with Europe; an annual Rally allows participants to sample local cultures from numerous countries. North Berwick hosted the 3-day event in 2000, which was attended by over 140 people from as far a field as South Africa; in 2003 the venue is Pinerola in Northern Italy.
Closer to home, our activities are split between business meetings, meetings with speakers and outside activities. These range from the sublime to the ridiculous (bowling to indoor climbing). Fund raising takes various forms, such as dinners and North Berwick's Christmas Panto, allowing children from throughout the community to participate.
We meet on the second and fourth Monday of each month, so if you are male, aged between 18 and 45 and want to sample our hospitality, please do not hesitate to contact John Forbes on 01620 895585 in the first instance.
