Scottish Ornithologists' Club

The SOC was established in 1936 and is now Scotland's largest bird club with 14 branches around Scotland. The new, purpose-built headquarters in Aberlady was opened in Autumn 2005.

The club plays a central role in Scottish birdwatching, bringing together amateur birdwatchers, keen birders and research ornithologists with the aim of documenting, studying and, not least, enjoying Scotland's varied birdlife.
