Village halls

Aberlady has two village halls. The larger of the two is the community hall, built in 1882 as the Drill Hall for the local rifle volunteers and given to the village by the Earl of Wemyss in 1951. The community hall is managed by Aberlady Community Association for the benefit of the village. See ‘Hall’.

The smaller of the two halls is the Kirk Stables, renovated in 1986 when the manse was sold. It is operated by the parish. See ‘Church’.

Playing field

The village sports field is behind the school. It is mostly used by the school and the football club, and is the venue for Gala Day.

Children’s play parks

There are play parks at The Pleasance (at the west end of the High Street) and off Luffness Court (at the east end of the village). There are also children’s play facilities between Tranter Road and Glenpeffer Avenue on the south side of the village.
