Aberlady Primary School

Parent Council

The Parent Council represents the parents and carers of children at the school, and its members are volunteers from that group (known as the Parent Forum). It meets twice a term and its meetings are attended by the headteacher, by the principal teacher if possible, and usually by a local councillor.

In 2018, the Parent Council also took on the fundraising duties which previously had been carried out by the Parent Teacher Association (PTA). Funds raised through events such as the Autumn Fair are donated to the school to pay for activities, equipment and other resources that improve our children’s experience at school and which would not normally be provided from core school funds.
