Aberlady Parish Church
The church in its present form dates from 1886-7, when it was remodelled by London architect William Young for the 10th Earl of Wemyss, although the tower is from the mid-1400s.
In 1986, Aberlady and Gullane Parishes were linked under one minister: the Gullane manse was retained while the Aberlady manse was sold, and the Kirk Stables was renovated.
The parish is served by the Rev Brian Hilsley LLB BD. Please see the church website for service times.
The smaller of Aberlady’s two public spaces is used for church events and community activities, and as the polling station at elections.
Activities for families that take place here include Cubs and Scouts (Monday evening); Parent and Toddler Group (Wednesdays, 9.30 – 11.30am); Brownies (Thursday evening); and dance classes from Edinburgh Dance Academy (Friday afternoon).
The Kirk Stables also hosts monthly meetings of the Scottish Women’s Rural Institutes (SWRI), Aberlady Pensioners and the Aberlady Conservation and History Society.
It is available to book through the church office.
